If your garage already contains EGO tools, you own spare dirt bike batteries right now and didn't know it. Ride one pack, swap in the one from the mower, keep going. No other kids' dirt bike plugs into an ecosystem you might already have, and it quietly solves the runtime problem that defines this entire category. That's platform thinking applied to a toy, and it works.

The bike attached to that battery is the most capable thing in the category on Amazon. Twenty miles per hour of smooth, strong lithium power — quicker than the Razor MX650's 17, delivered without the sag lead-acid packs develop mid-ride. The standout safety feature is a weight-sensing throttle: the bike will not drive without a rider seated on it, which eliminates the classic runaway-bike-across-the-yard scenario and the grabbed-throttle-while-standing-beside-it one. Charging takes an hour or two on EGO's rapid chargers instead of overnight. The whole experience feels like a power-tool company decided a dirt bike was just another tool, and engineered accordingly.

Two honest limitations. First, price: $1,000 to $1,200 buys three MX650s, and no amount of platform cleverness makes that a casual number. Second, weight: 57 pounds is impressively light next to the MX650's near-100, but it's still substantial for a smaller 10-year-old to lift off themselves after a spill. This is a bike for kids with some size and some seriousness.

If your rider is committed, your budget is real, and especially if your shed already hums with 56V EGO gear, this is the class of the field. Everyone else can be very happy at half the price.
